CSC ACADEMY LAUNCHES ‘CAREER GUIDANCE CELL’
On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, CSC Academy has launched ‘Career Guidance Cell’. CSC Academy, being the Education & Skill Hub for Rural India, will offer customized career counseling and guidance services to students based on their specific needs. Ranging from technology enabled information access to human-led professional career counseling; CSC Academy centres will act as the “CSC Career Guidance Cell” and provide requisite career guidance to students from Class 9th to Under Graduate level.
Dr. Dinesh Kumar Tyagi, MD-CSC SPV, while inaugurating the event, appreciated the efforts of CSCs in providing key services to the grassroots citizens. He said, “The large number of population rural India needs career counseling. CSC Academy will bridge this gap. In villages, quality education will be ensured through CSC Academy. To bridge limitations, we focused in this format. The launch of ‘Career Guidance Cell’ will be a new chapter in CSC ecosystem. After career counseling, students in rural areas will play a significant role in nation building and further empowerment of citizens. One CSC Career Counselor will be appointed in each CSC Academy.”
Objectives of ‘Career Guidance Cell’ will be:
• To ensure focused career planning for rural students aligned with their skills and interest.
• To support and align vocational and skill based learning and education for the school/ college dropout students.
• To support the rural students in identifying the right stream/ course available through CSC Academy
• To map the upcoming job opportunities with student’s aspirations.
• To collaborate with educational institutions and better outreach to student community
• To engage with stakeholders, both in industry and academia, at individual and institutional level to drive upcoming and updated academic and career opportunities for rural India.
All the sessions shall be conducted in online mode and recording of each session shall be available on Digipaathshala with a free access option to all CSC Academy VLEs and their students.
a. Generic Counselling sessions: Twice in a month on WebEx/ similar online platform open to students of a set of states (Hindi/ English) with maximum 1000 students per session. These sessions shall be focused based on student’s academic profile. Academic experts from partner educational institutions like IIT, ISB, Amityand Symbiosis shall be invited to share the desired skills and personality traits for various academic streams like arts, science, commerce and management.
b. Industry Specific Expert talks: Once in a month experts from leading sectors like IT, Digital Marketing, Organic Agriculture, Entrepreneurship etc. shall address the students on changing trends, opportunities and desired skill set to join a given sector. CSC Academy’s empanelled corporates like Microsoft, PayPal, Vodafone, HDFC etc shall participate in these sector specific counselling sessions.
c. Special Counselling Session: As per the demand from CSC Academy VLE/s these special counselling sessions shall be conducted in online mode for a specific school/ CSC Academy Centre with a minimum group size of 30 students. The format of these sessions shall be customized based on the student academic and interest profile.
